Russian tennis player Marat Safin will have to wrestle with split loyalties when he attends Tuesday's Champions League semi-final between Monaco and Chelsea.

The former world number one -- now resident in the principality tax haven -- would like his home team to win the first leg but his tickets came from compatriot and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.

"I don't care who's gonna win," smiled the player nicknamed 'Big Red'. "I want to see beautiful football."

When pressed the Russian grinned: "Of course, Monaco have to win but I got the tickets from Chelsea so I have to support them also."
